Ongoing Revision Tasks

Many of you have issues with PACE and STAMINA
Many of you have issues with CONCENTRATION and FOCUS
Many of you have NOT STARTED REVISING
Many of you ARE RELYING ON ME TOO MUCH
Many of you ARE NOT USED TO WRITING ENOUGH

  • Have stamina - don’t exhaust everything you know on the first question
  • Answer the actual question - read the key words
  • Media Language must be used frequently, and confidently. It is literally what you get marks for. It’s how you show AQA you know what you are talking about.
  • Use Media Theorists in Section A to support points, if applicable. As above.
  • Provide own examples other than those in the texts, especially in Q2 and 3.
  • Evaluate - crucial for Q2 and 3. It is in the Mark Scheme. Purposefully argue against the question, just to make a point. Use Stuart Hall alternative readings, or Marxist/feminist/utopian/dystopian readings.

Question 1 is worth 8 marks, which is 25% of the 32 marks available.
25% of 45 minutes is 11 minutes.

Questions 2 and 3 are worth 12 marks each, which is 37.5% of the 32 marks available.
37.5% of 45 minutes is 17 minutes for each question.
